KUALA LUMPUR: Seat negotiations for the forthcoming state elections among parties in the unity government are still ongoing.

Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the negotiations, however, were still in the early stage.

"We have not formally negotiated the seat distributions for the upcoming state elections.

"The head of the secretariat for the unity government consultative council will study the details that will be discussed regarding the matter," he said during a press conference held at Menara Dato' Onn, which was was held after he chaired the first session of the Umno Supreme Council Meeting today.

Meanwhile, Zahid said starting this Ramadan, together with other Umno leaders, he will hold a 'buka puasa' tour with leaders at the state level.
