KLANG: Pakatan Harapan is confident of securing significant support from Malay voters in the upcoming Selangor state election despite the so-called “green wave”, says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the coalition will go into the polls with a good track record of governing the state since 2008.

“We’re highly confident, we will face the state election with such confidence and our (good) track record.

“Our votes (in the 15th General Election) cut across races, we could see support from Malay voters in some areas.

“With that, I believe Pakatan will record huge support from the Malays in Selangor (for the state election),” he told the reporters after attending Selangor DAP's annual convention here on Sunday (March 26).

However, Amiruddin admitted that the coalition would need to work hard in constituencies like Batang Kali and Hulu Bernam.

"This can be done through cooperation with other parties at the unity government level," he added.

Meanwhile, DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke said negotiations involving Pakatan component parties and other unity government parties are ongoing.

“We have a process in which the seat allocations will be revealed during the candidate announcements,” he said.
