PETALING JAYA: A Bill will be tabled to the Dewan Rakyat to abolish the death penalty, says Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.

The Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of law and institutional reforms said the first and second readings of the Bill would be read in Dewan Rakyat on Monday (March 27) followed by a briefing to all MPs on Tuesday (March 28). 

"I am glad the unity government has taken the steps to abolish the death penalty and made the proper amendments to the law to accomplish this goal," she said.
