dompeilee, have you taken profits yet? Lunch time hits 1.55, which on daily charts is right at the 200dMA. RSI also overbought in a general downtrend. I imagine the day traders will have taken / will be taking profits this afternoon. Some short-biased traders may also be looking to sell at these levels since the technical damage to the chart is quite significant and won't be so easy to be bullish after such prolonged falls.

1.53 .. nice! Contrary to analysts who called Buys when price was 1.8x and kept calling buys until it goes down to 1.3x when their tune changes to hold, I completely disregard these analysts and bought at 1.3x. SPTOTO is a stock where the lower the price goes, the cheaper it is and it's better to buy more at lower prices. If you listened to analysts, you will not make money so easily! At 1.53, my entire SPTOTO position is already profitable.

When it was trading at 1.2x, that's near all time low in its 23 years history. Why would you just "Hold" at these prices? Doesn't make sense. Now, when price recovers higher and higher next 2 years, will these "Hold" Analysts then change their tunes to "Buy"? When decent businesses goes on sale, it's time to buy, not "Hold" / "Do nothing", especially near 23 year low and after falling from the peak of over RM5 ....

Crisis creates opportunities , Gov to allow e-betting so to get back the taxes for the benefit of the rakyat.

1.SPtoto announced yesterday that it has brought back 1.2m shares in its continuing effort to boost up and stabilize share price in the share buyback program at price ranging between 1.49 to 1.53.
2. Shares buybacks reduce the number of shares in circulation and this would increase the earning per share EPS and hence the share price as well.

3. The shares buy back are kept in a treasury account as treasury shares TS. It may be cancelled and thus reduced the total number of issued share capital to boost share price in the long term.
4., TS may be resale in the stock market to recover its cost and realize its profit to strengthen cash flow and working capital. The company may also choose to distribute the treasury share as dividend in species to its shareholders. This has been done and will continue to be undertaken by SPtoto in the near future.

5 A company that undertakes share shares buyback is a cash rich company. This also means it is in a strong cash position to maintain and uphold its dividend policy and pays consistent dividend.

6. More importantly one must note that when a company buys back its own share, it believes that its share price is currently undervalue compare to its intrinsic value.

7. Hence, for as long as the share buyback is continuing, it is unlikely that they will allow it to tumble down. It would take a catastrophic event to collapse it to 1.3 level

8. In the meanwhile, it is better to follow the mood, ride on the trend, and profit from it.

1.During this period the issued share capital of Toto had enlarged from 570m to 1.35b shares as a result of corporate exercise and dividend in species to reward its long term and loyal shareholders on multiple occasions.

2. The issued shares has been enlarged by 1350/570 = 2.36 times and at today's price of 1.54 the market capital has ballooned to 2.08b. Although the DPS is lower and seemingly declined,in reality it is not and means otherwise. The shareholding has increased and likewise,the dividend increase proportionately
.
3. TOTO has demonstrated excellent resilience during the covid years. Even in 2019 and 2020 in the midst of total lock down the company managed to produce profit of 28m and 134m respectively.

4.For 2021 and 2022,in which many company are still struggling and on the onset of recovery, SPTOTO successfully generated profits of 182m and 161m respectively. The company has just announced its final quarter and 12 month financial performance for 2023. There has been a significant jump in profit from 161m from a year ago to 221m.

5.In the 4 years period the revenue has improved tremendously from 2.48b in 2019 to 6.1b in 2023. The talented, resourceful and superb management of SPTOTO has generated a remarkable and commendable financial performance in revenue and profitability.

6. Investors tend to assume that the business of SPTOTO is purely 4D and numbering forecast operation. In reality, a huge chunk of the revenue and profit is contributed by its overseas automobile division and sales of luxury cars that includes Rolls Royce, Maserati ,Porsche and many more.
7. The business is flourishing. There has been excellent revenue and earning growth. The top line and bottom line of the latest quarter result confirmed it with remarkable numbers.

8. Hence, It would amount to an insult to belittle a company that generates 6.1b in revenue and 221m in profit.

9. At 1.54 SPTOTO is trading at a miserable PE multiple of 9.38x and that is 33% discount to the Bursa PE of 12.5x Therefore, it is unwittingly reckless to ignore SPTOTO and foolishly mistaken a gem for a stone.

10. The company has announced 2.5sen dividend and the ex-date is on 29th Sept 2023.

11. If you have nothing better to buy, this may just be an alternative stock you could interestingly explore.
