Sold 13% off near RM4 to lower my average cost down to 3.09. Still got 87% to ride this stock up. At current price of 4.09, the Div Yield is still very nice at 6.1%. My Dividend Yield on cost is now a nice 8.1% after lowering my average cost down. I am conservatively predicting HAPSENG delivers 25 sen this year (which should be easy peasy). When my Dividend Yield on Cost is double digit and double EPF rate, that's when you know that you can forget this stock most of the time! Taking 70+ sen profit when yearly dividend is 25 sen is not a bad thing to do, as that's nearly 3 years worth of dividends in just an extremely short months.

SOLD just under 1/3 of my re-purchased HapSeng @ 4.15 & 4.16 just now( re-bought 1 biji @ 5.19 after exiting @ 6.47 on the last trading day of '22, then 1 @ 4.28, 2 @ 3.62 & the last 2 @ 3.47, bringing the average to just under 4.00). Collected the last dividend that offset all the trading commissions, & today reached the 767th consecutive trading day with a capital gain: mission accomplished!!!🤗

Hap Seng Consolidated Bhd recorded a nearly five-fold rise in net profit to RM661.89 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2023 (2QFY2023) from RM132.58 million a year ago, boosted by a disposal gain.

The group recognised a disposal gain of RM594.98 million from the disposal of its entire stake in HS Credit (Manchester) Ltd, a company involved in the provision of term loans to corporations in the United Kingdom.

Ken, you are right about not selling low. Take a small profit but leave the majority to ride higher.

The next resistance is around 4.64 or thereabouts. I will sell another 12% there and will let the remaining majority ride to next resistance above RM5 to 5.2.

The 38.2% Fibonacci retracement around 4.68 or so, is a magnet, so, price may ding dong there for a while. But the trend is bullish over past weeks, so, the bias after that is more likely a continuation of prior trend. The stock has risen 50%+, so, it's normal to build a new base first.
