Generational End Game (GEG) a bill is a bit of a misnomer because it refers to only a section of the Control of Tobacco Products and Smoking Bill 2022. The other sections include various regulations to control the sale of tobacco and vape products and have been in the works...1 Aug 2022

OK, so the Government wants to implement one of the most ambitious public health plans EVER—by banning the use, possession and sale of cigarette and vape products for people born after 2007.

The plan was introduced by Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin earlier this year and a bill for the proposed law has already been tabled for reading in Parliament.

This law has been called many names like the Generational End Game (GEG) and ‘Anti-Rokok-18’. But the goal remains the same: to create a smoke-free Malaysia by making it illegal for the next generation or anyone born after 2007 to take a puff in their entire lifetime even after they’ve reached the age of 18 – which is the current legal age of smoking here in Malaysia.
Khairy calls this a “soft landing” approach to bring a gradual end to smoking and plans to get the bill passed by year’s end.
Although the law seems like a good idea, it is getting a lot of pushback from policymakers, medical professionals, industry players, experts in all sorts of fields and, of course, the public.
But if the GEG is seen as such a good plan, why are people saying that the Government might be rushing into its implementation?
Well, there have been several arguments made on why we might need more time to study the proposed prohibition and its effects on the country as a whole.

KUALA LUMPUR (April 4): Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said it is too drastic to ban the use of electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) and vape products containing nicotine.
“Taking extreme action to ban vaping, e-cigarettes, is quite drastic, and cannot be done in any country in the world. Many people still smoke, even if we hold [several] campaigns,” he said in the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday (April 4).

just my 2 cent of logic and common sense in analyzing this BAT stock
-that time it fly till RM12-13 a lot investor got confident in this stock and a lot has invested in during those price and due to today price, a lot of them still stuck in those price and yet they still holding it, if they average down it will be more holding in BAT stock as well in the market
-As u know, no matter what smoker will always be the smoker. So i believe smoking is the only entertainment by most of the ppl either in releasing stress or something which cant be control to stop.
-although the company is not performing well at the moment, but BAT is one of the highest payout dividend yield counter among other counter in BURSA Malaysia.
-there is still a lot of unknown investor holding in this company for long run dividend without concerning the company price right now.
-During pandemic or bad market, this counter still able to holds it price above RM 10, so i believe the fundamental and public confident towards BAT is still there.
-as per record, always the MAY/JUNE dividend payout will be the lowest and being compensated back in the upcoming dividend payout in the next quarter, so stay tune for upcoming next dividend payout.
-regardless who is the CEO, as those major stakeholder in the board it won't let their best ship sink as money is all they concern and yet this is not a SCAM/CON counter to earn money for stakeholder like serb*** and etc.
As above analyzing, i believe BAT will still has a good run at the moment.
Wish me luck in the journey with BAT for future more dividend payout ^^ RM 10.30 is a good price
