Chairman at ystd AGM said he wasn't aware of any pte equity to buy a stake in KPJ. How can he be not aware of as it was in the news and vol of shares has been historical. Such a sweeping statement did not sound very professional.

slow and steady yet solid profitability. I expect a sustained momentum for FY23. Keep it. 1.25 has yet to come..... maybe Novemberlah...

Expect mild support at 1.15 and strong support at 1.09. Next resistance at 1.18 to 1.20 and later 1.30. Very safe bet, the best Q results to come in Q3 2023. Mgmt has mentioned that business is booming since 2H 2022. DSH2 to be major catalyst.

Kenanga TP RM1.50, details below...
We reiterate our OVERWEIGHT call for the healthcare sector. We expect patient throughput and revenue intensity in private hospitals in both the domestic and international markets to end the year on a high note, driven by a seemingly higher propensity of the population to seek treatment for medical issues post the pandemic. Similarly, we see robust sales of pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter (OTC) drugs backed by increased health awareness. Meanwhile, there is growing adoption of immunotherapy as a cancer treatment method. Over the longer term, the prospects of private healthcare will continue to be underpinned by rising affluence and an aging population. Our top picks are KPJ (OP; TP: RM1.50) and KOTRA (OP; TP: RM7.00).
...
Similarly, KPJ is on track to meet our FY23F patient throughput growth projection of 14% (vs. 12% in FY22) and BOR of 70% (vs. 58% in 2022), driven by the recovery in demand for elective surgeries. Thanks to high patient throughput, two of its new hospitals have turned EBITDA-positive while the other two only recorded small operating losses.
We like KPJ for its pricing power as a private healthcare provider and its strong market position locally with the largest network of 28 private hospitals (vs. 16 of the next largest player IHH). We expect the stock to be re-rated following: (i) the divestment of its loss-making Indonesian operations, and (ii) its newer hospitals turning EBITDA positive post gestation period.

Hospitals to gain from return of medical tourism
KUALA LUMPUR: Hospitals under IHH Healthcare Bhd and KPJ Healthcare Bhd appear to be going strong despite concerns about rising costs.
The demand for private healthcare is seen to be sustainable due to surging cases of chronic diseases across the globe, according to Kenanga Research.
Medical tourism have also returned to the country with much vigour, the research house said.
According to Kenanga Research, IHH is on track to meet its financial year 2023 (FY23) revenue per inpatient growth projection of 10% to 15%, following an 18% increase in FY22.

IF there is one thing Malaysians take pride in (besides our endless food and racial unity) is definitely the healthcare system.
Based on a survey at research organisation Ipsos, Malaysia currently ranks third next to Switzerland and Singapore, ranking second and first respectively, for their reliable service.
It was reported that 68 per cent of Malaysians respondents said that they trusted the nation’s healthcare system to provide them with the best treatment, with widely accessible information.
